چکیده
This study aims to determine the effect of partial (50% and 75%) complete (100%) replacement barley corn silage with whole plant faba bean on milk production, feed intake efficiency, digestibility, rumen fermentation characteristics high producing cows. A repeated 4 × Latin square (early lactating cows: four cannulated non-cannulated) design was used. The used for treatments were different: control diet (T0; 18.37% + 12.23% silage), one (T50; 9.18% 6.12% 15.30% two (T75; 4.59% 3.06% 22.95% three (T100; 30.60% silage). results showed that fat corrected (3.5% FCM) energy (ECM) linearly increased increasing level in diets. starch digestibility decreased from 95.3% 90.4% supplementation using silage. Rumen (pH, ammonia, volatile fatty acids) similar among all treatments. In conclusion, inclusion improved FCM, ECM, yield, efficiency without negatively affecting dry matter. can be as an alternative dairy

Methane production, digestion, ruminal fermentation, nitrogen balance, and milk production of cows fed corn silage- or barley silage-based diets.
This study evaluated the effects of replacing barley silage (BS) with corn silage (CS) in dairy cow diets on enteric CH4 emissions, ruminal fermentation characteristics, digestion, milk production, and N balance. Nine ruminally cannulated lactating cows were used in a replicated 3 × 3 Latin square design (32-d period) and fed (ad libitum) a total mixed ration (TMR; forage:concentrate ratio 60:4...

A study was conducted using 63 Angus crossbred heifers (234.5 ± 18.97 kg) to compare Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) versus Soybean Meal (SBM) as a supplemental protein source. Animals were assigned to three treatments, which were SBM and two levels of DDGS, fed as a top-dressed supplement. Treatments were formulated to provide .30 kg SBM (12.5% CP, 1.08 Mcal NEg/kg; SBM), .30 kg D...
متن کاملSynthesis of microbial protein in ruminally cannulated cows fed alfalfa silage, alfalfa hay, or corn silage.
Six ruminally cannulated cows were used in an experiment with a 3 x 3 Latin square design. Three all forage diets-alfalfa silage, alfalfa hay, or corn silage plus 2.2% urea (DM basis)-were fed for ad libitum intake four times daily. The microbial protein marker 15NH3 and the liquid marker Cr-EDTA were infused continuously into the rumen for 72 and 48 h, respectively; the solid marker, Yb-labele...
متن کاملCorn Silage Production and Management
Corn harvested for silage is an important feed crop on most Pennsylvania farms, where cropland often is limited. The crop provides livestock producers with a high-yielding, relatively consistent source of forage and the animals with a highly digestible and palatable feed. Corn silage produces more energy per acre than any other crop grown in Pennsylvania. Corn silage serves as a high-energy for...
متن کاملIncreasing harvest maturity of whole-plant corn silage reduces methane emission of lactating dairy cows.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of increasing maturity of whole-plant corn at harvest on CH4 emissions by dairy cows consuming corn silage (CS) based diets. Whole-plant corn was harvested at a very early [25% dry matter (DM); CS25], early (28% DM; CS28), medium (32% DM; CS32), and late (40% DM; CS40) stage of maturity. In a randomized block design, 28 lactating Holste...
